Post Secret Live

Last night I had the pleasure of attending one of Frank Warren's live shows at the University at Albany. If you are not familiar with his craft ( http://www.postsecret.com/ ) there you go, I promise you wont regret it.

Basically what Frank does is invite people around the world to send him a postcard with their deepest and darkest secret written on it ( I know it may sound a little creepy) but like I said, check out what he does, its pretty cool once you look deeper into it.

Well, he came to my school to give a presentation about what he does, how Post Secret came to be about, and read us some of the most touching secrets people sent him from all around the world. It was some pretty deep shit. After his presentation, he invited audience members to come up and tell some of their secrets. I must say, it was an experience that I would invite you all to take if you are given the chance. He is constantly traveling from state to state giving presentations. Keep an eye out.

BTW, for any All American Rejects fans out there, go back and watch the "Dirty Little Secret" video, Post Secret founded the theme of that video, take a look for yourself.

Lifestyles of the "Rich and Famous"

I always marvel at the material world that entertainers, especially hip hop artistic, are able to bury their lives into. Hip hop artists have always been ones to drive flashy cars, rock icy jewelry, and show off their lavish houses. Not to say they're wrong for it, I mean I would probably do the same if I lived their lifestyle.

Heres an example of an upcoming hip hop artist blowing some money. Sometimes I wonder how an artist who probably hasn't even made his first million, is able to purchase a $30,000 watch. Still love VADO's music though.

Sometimes I still find it hard to cope with the fact that an entertainer can make more than a doctor, who saves  lives for a living. But this topic is way too broad to be discussed in this blog. More to come.

The Art of 3

As we approach the All Star weekend, let us think about the first half of the season. Coming into the 2010, the topic of discussion was, and still is, Kobe and Lebron. Kobe for his potential 3 peat as an NBA Finals Champion, and Lebron for his potential 3 peat for season MVP. But which run would be more impressive?

While many say that Lebron's feat would be much more feasible, because the MVP is an individual award, one must realize the challenges that Lebron faces. Many NBA analysts have compared Miami's main pieces to those of the Bulls' in the 90's, but lets face it guys, Pippen was no Wade. For Lebron to come to South Beach and take over "Wade's team" really shows how skilled Lebron truly is. Not mention the fella out in Oklahoma City, giving Lebron a run for his money.

As far as Kobe, a 3 peat in terms of Championships is always a great accomplishment, and should be given the utmost respect. And while the Lakers arent looking like the best team in the NBA, we all know Kobe turns it up just a notch, come playoff time. Lets see what happens. For all those who refused to put Kobe's name up there with Jordan's in the past, would really have no choice if Kobe pulls this one off.

So in the end which accomplishment is truly more impressive? I guess its up for debate.

Showdown At The Garden

This thursday, St. Johns will be looking for their 6th Big East Conference win against UConn. After a major coaching change this year, the Red Storm was able to pull out a notable win against 13th ranked Georgetown and handed the Duke Blue Devils their second loss of the season.

Though the Red Storm has shown future promise, Kemba Walker, one of college basketball's leading scorers, will have something to say about this matchup. With his 23.2 ppg, Kemba will be looking to defend UConn's 18-4 record, and restrict St. Johns to just another notch in his belt.

I'm glad to say that I will have the privilege of sitting in on this game. It should be a goodie. More to come!!!
